Reading the guide
NZ Table Notes is a personal restaurant guide operated by one Curator in New Zealand. You can read published notes and photos without an account. There are no Reader subscriptions, payments, comments or uploads, and we do not add advertising trackers or Reader analytics scripts.
Hosting and image delivery involve request information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser details and request time. Our service providers process this information to deliver the site, protect it and diagnose failures. It is not a Reader profile in our guide database.
Curator sign-in
The private workspace uses Google sign-in through Clerk. Google shares basic account identity with Clerk: an account identifier, verified email address, name and profile image where available. Clerk stores this account information and manages authentication sessions. The app uses the authorized Clerk identifier to protect editorial records.
This information is used for sign-in and access control. It is not copied into the public Curator profile or used for advertising. The app does not request Gmail messages, contacts, Drive files or Google Photos. Google and Clerk use cookies for authentication; blocking them can prevent Curator sign-in. Readers do not need to sign in.
Notes, photos and messages
Restaurant notes and photos come from the Curator. Drafts and unpublished corrections stay private; reviewed publication makes the selected content available to everyone. Public copies can be cached or saved by others, so removing a page cannot recall every copy.
If you contact the Curator, your email address and message are used to handle your enquiry. They are not added to a mailing list or published as a Reader contribution.
Service providers and retention
Vercel hosts the site and temporarily stages uploads. Neon stores editorial records, Cloudinary processes and delivers photos, and Clerk and Google provide sign-in. GitHub stores encrypted database recovery archives; the decryption key is kept separately. These providers may process information outside New Zealand.
Temporary upload files are removed after processing is verified. Editorial history and recovery records can retain earlier versions. Encrypted backups follow a daily and weekly retention policy, so a deletion is not immediately removed from every backup. Authentication, security and infrastructure records also have provider retention periods. Contact the Curator about information concerning you.
You can also read Google's privacy policy and Clerk's privacy policy for information about their own privacy practices.
Your choices
You can ask the Curator to explain, provide or correct personal information held about you, or to consider a removal request. You can also raise a concern with New Zealand's Office of the Privacy Commissioner. We will update this notice when the site's practices change.
